and unlock the secrets of Ancient Egypt.
When the key to Ancient Egypt was found by a French Army, they had no idea what it would uncover. The Rosetta Stone was made in 196 BC, found, translated, and in the end, changed the way Egypt was viewed and is now looked at. When the Rosetta Stone was found in 1799, the French Army saw that there were three different languages inscribed on it. It had Ancient Greek, which was quickly translated, Demotic which was translated soon after, and Hieroglyphics, the most important piece which was translated 23 years after the discovery. When they realized the secrets that the Rosetta Stone held, they went to work to decipher the Hieroglyphics carved throughout Egypt. Today, we look at Egypt as an amazing place where afterlife was honored, amazing architecture was achieved, and their advanced knowledge was appreciated. The Rosetta Stone was a turning point in the history of Egypt and beyond. This is the legacy of the Rosetta Stone.
